What sort of internet marketing business should I venture into?

web marketing

Here’s a question I got recently from one of my friends:

“What sort of internet marketing business should I pursue? There’s so many different ways to make money online, and every one of them is supposedly the ‘best’. What do you think is really the best?”

That’s a great question. And I wish there was an easy answer…

But honestly, there is no “best” internet marketing business to go into. All of them have their own particular advantages and disadvantages.

You just have to find the right one for you–and that’s the key to succeeding in internet marketing.

Examine where your strengths are and build a internet marketing business around those. Focus on the things that you cherish the most and feel passionate about and find a way to monetize them.

For example, I love business. I love everything about it–the planning, the marketing, the tactics–everything.

Plus, I have a proven track record of starting and growing many new businesses. So I know that I have a core strength there.

Also, I’m constantly searching for new and better ways to develop my small business coaching program. So when it came to creating an online business model, I went with the one thing I could be the best in the world at and act on with a passion–helping others to do the same.

Without a doubt, it was the right choice. I get to do what I love the most and still have the freedom and liberty to spend more time with my loved ones.

So detect those same strengths and passions in yourself and seek out ways to design a internet business around them. One of the easiest ways to do this is by establishing a recurring income program.

Each month, you can charge your subscribers for access to content on a certain subject. This model has MASSIVE potential because you build something once, then get paid over and over with very little maintenance.

Practically every successful guru I know has a recurring income program of some sort. In fact, my former client, Mike Filsaime, recently added another six-figures to his monthly income with a specific approach that brought in just over 11,500 new leads.

Now, I don’t know if the membership  model is right for you. You’ve got to discover that for yourself.

But I do think it’s worth looking at.

If this seems like something you’d like to act on further, Your best bet is to find out which business is best suited to you.

Could This Be Holding You Back From Internet Marketing Success?

Eschewing just about all of the hassles and frustrations of traditional offline businesses, online marketing can be the ideal business to start for ourselves. But if it’s so good, why do most people fail to make any money online? Here is a list of the biggest mistakes people make when building their online marketing businesses:

Having a Get-Rich-Quick Mentality

Despite what anyone says, making real money online requires a consistent effort over an extended period of time. Take a look at anyone who has made a significant amount of money, and you will notice that 99% of them did it through plain old hard work. The fact of the matter is that online marketing is, in the end, a business, and behind any profitable business are years of honest effort.

Now keep in mind, having the right mentors can drastically reduce the amount of time it takes to make decent money, but the reality is your success can only be achieved if you work at it for a period of time. Even in Internet marketing, get rich quick doesn’t exist.

Lack of Focus

This is a big mistake that affects a lot of people trying to make money online. There are just so many different ways to make money on the Internet. You sell other people’s products through affiliate programs, or sell your own product. You can make money using PPC ads, or use PPC ads to sell products and make money that way. There are so many different things you can do, and often, we get caught up trying new things, constantly hopping from one method to the next. Unfortunately, a lack of focus is going to not only seriously hinder your business, but you are also going to end up spending a fortune on different courses and products that teach you these new methods.

My recommendation? Find one method that makes sense and follow it through to the best of your ability. Give it a solid six months to a year of effort at a minimum and see how things are working out. If you’re seeing some good return on your efforts, keep pressing forward. If nothing is happening, then and only then should you decide on a new approach.

Giving Up

Finally, I have to point out the biggest thing keeping people from success on the Internet, and that is giving up too early. We’ve now realize that success in online marketing – and in life – requires a consistent effort over an extended length of time. Along the way, you will hit a “turning point” in your venture – when things really start gelling and you are beginning to see the benefits. However, before that happens, it will seem that nothing is happening, and consequently, many people mistake this for failure and decide to give up.

The truth is that Internet marketing works if you work it, and in order for it to work, you need to keep working until you reach the turning point. Stop prematurely and you’ll never know if your plan worked or not.

Keep The Faith

Consistent effort over time is the only way to succeed. Internet marketing guru Mark Dulisse has created a business where he is making over $10,000 each month from a single website! On April 14th, he is releasing an amazing course called IM Niche Formula, and it is designed to help you make some serious money online using simple-to-follow methods. Top Affiliate Marketing Strategies

If you’re new to blogging, you’ll eventually find out that one of the best ways to make money blogging is by signing up for an affiliate program.  This is an especially good tactic for blogging neophytes who still haven’t established their online presence, and who need a bit of a push towards earning extra money.

Before everything else, however, what exactly is an affiliate program?  And what does it take to be an affiliate?  Basically, an affiliate program promises to reward a blogger for directing his visitors to the affiliate partner’s site.  Sometimes, a program will pay a commission only if the blogger’s visitor buys something from the affiliate or signs up for a specific service.

As it stands, affiliate marketing isn’t as easy as it appears to be.  You can’t take it for granted that your readers will click through your ad links, nor can you guarantee that they’ll buy something from your affiliate partner.  If you want to make money blogging, you’re going to have to formulate a strategy that will maximize what your affiliate program has to offer.  Below are some tips that might make affiliate marketing a little easier – and definitely more lucrative – for you.

1. Stick to the simpler things:

Over time, it’s become more and more obvious that glitzy banners and flashy ads on your site don’t do as well as advertising that comes in the simple form of links. In other words, people are most likely to respond to an ad if it’s subtle and non-invasive, which is exactly what an ad link is like. Not just that – the difficulty with banners is that they sometimes take forever to load, especially if they require a demanding program to run successfully. Go with the simpler format, and your ads are likely to get much more attention and click-throughs than your banner ads.

2. Make sure that your blog theme and affiliate program are compatible:

If digital technology is such so popular, wouldn’t it make sense for you to put up ads for cell phones and digital cameras on your site?  Well, it would, if your blog were also about digital technology.  If, however, you’re managing a food blog, you might only confuse your readers with the product offers you’re waving.  Choose an affiliate program that’s in line with your blog’s current theme – doing so concentrates on your target market and eliminates unnecessary confusion.

Sign up for multiple programs:

Signing up for multiple affiliate programs expands the possibilities of profit for your blog, so don’t confine yourself to just one program.  Take note, however, that having too many ads on your blog can be a turn off to your visitors, so put up just the right amount of advertising on your site.  Too little, and you’re not making the most of your blog’s money-making potential.  Too much, and you drive your readers away.  Strike for the middle ground, and you’re bound to turn up a better profit than you thought you could.

4. Create reviews for products that your readers will be interested in:

What kind of products will your readers be interested in?  Since you’re serving a particular market with your blog, respond to their interests by coming up with product evaluations that can help them make better purchases.  And we aren’t just talking about any old review here – instead, we’re referring to a commissioned review from places like ReviewMe.com, where a blogger can get paid for evaluating a specific product.  Not only do you get to help your readers – you also stand to earn money for your efforts!

It’s not too hard to figure out how affiliate marketing works, or what it takes to be a good affiliate.  Refining your strategy with affiliate programs is just one of the better ways to make money blogging, and when it’s used prudently and wisely with your existing marketing strategy, your blog is bound to go places.

Hidden Gems Found in Online Viral Marketing Strategies – Mining Your Database

Before you hire a viral marketing agency, take a moment to look objectively at your website. With a good technique, a marketer may be able to drive tens of thousands of visitors to your website. However, you are defeating the purpose if your website does not or  does not have the capability to sell your products or services.

If you are confident in your website and the products that you offer, then there are many companies you could choose from. You can even take a free course or paid class and learn how to “do it yourself”. Take time to do your research and look around. Read about the company’s techniques and see if it is something that you could apply. Try to establish how many people are in the network. Research any available testimonials.

There is one company that operates very quietly, almost hard to notice. The techniques that they use may be ok, but sites like YouTube would not approve of them. Moreover, their services can not be customized. They recommend the same methodology for all of their customers.

If they are to effectively grow your business, a viral marketing agency should tailor their solutions to suit your products or services. They should offer ways to keep in touch with your current clients and turn your clients’ friends into your customers.

One of the effective techniques is a regular newsletter, sent to your client’s e-mail address. If you have no clients, you may need to purchase a list of quality email addresses. Some of these lists were compiled by other companies. They ask their customers if they would like to receive information from affiliates. If the customer says “yes”, they become part of the company database.

It is entirely possible to locate a viral marketing agency that provides this sort of list together with their other services. To be most effective, you want the list to be targeted to include people in your niche market. If you are selling a toy, parents would be your target market. It would be wasting everyone’s time to send thousands of emails to seniors.

Some of the easier methods that you can employ include “social networking”. Become a member of an online forum or group, whose members have interests that are similar with your target. If you have yet to identify your niche, you may need a little more help than a viral marketing agency can offer. Everyone has a unique niche. In some cases, it’s just hard to see it, no matter where you stand. Someone outside of your company may be able to help you find your niche and grow your business.
